“From Bitter to Restoration”
In the book of Ruth, Naomi was a woman that was full when she left her homeland with her husband and two sons. They resided in Moab for years then she lost not only her husband but also her sons. She decided that she would return back to her homeland where she could at least be around people she knew. She returned with her daughter-n-law Ruth. It had been years and they did not expect to see her again.
Naomi had left her homeland because of the famine looking for something better in a neighboring country. As she was entering into town one of the women said “Can that be Naomi.” Naomi did not want to be called by her name as she had gone out for a better life and return home a bitter woman. The name Naomi means “Pleasant, delightful, and lovely.” She did not feel like a pleasant, delightful, and lovely woman so she asked to be called Mara, which means “bitter.” She felt as GOD had done her wrong.
Naomi thought GOD did not love her because to her he took everything that meant anything to her and she had nothing left. What she did not know was that there was a method to the madness, and that is what we have to think of sometimes in life is that GOD has us to go through things in order for us to get to where he wants us to be.
Her restoration came through Ruth by her gleaning in Boaz field. Ruth found favor while gleaning. Ruth 3:1 reads, “My daughter, shall I not seek security for you that it may be well with you?” Naomi saw hope at this time, she gave some instructions to Ruth to follow. Doing this is where restoration started coming back for Naomi. To her she had no life left to live. As it is stated in Ruth 4:15 “And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourished of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.” Naomi was truly on her way back to being called Naomi again and not Mara.
Can you identify with Naomi? Is there something in your life that has cause you to be very bitter? Do you feel as though you do not have a reason to live?
Here’s what God says about all that seems unrecoverable in your life; Luke 18-27 states that “the things which are impossible with men are possible with GOD” I can’t say how he will do it but he will restore you from that bitter state that you are in. If you see yourself A “Mara”, there is restoration for you, trust me it is not too late. GOD had planned it and he will do it.
While you are going through your transformation from bitter to restoration your name may change, it is because of the purpose and the promise that GOD has on your life. Don’t just sit on what GOD has for you, let him in to guide you in all that you was designed to do and be. Get rid of the negative get rid of the clutter get rid of all that is not of GOD so that you can receive your total and complete restoration.
GOD wants you to know that you have to sometimes go through the wilderness in order to see the greatness that he has for you. Don’t let your yesteryears stop you from being restored into what GOD not MAN but GOD has promised you.
Read the whole book of RUTH and be blessed. GOD Bless You Much Love
