The book of Proverbs is a book of wisdom. We learn how to handle our money, and how to work as well as how to treat our parents, children and friends. We also learned the differences between wisdom and folly, between the righteous and the wicked. However, most of the Proverbs are attributed to Solomon, a man who sought wisdom above all else and because of it received everything he could ever desire.
We read in the first chapter of Proverbs, Proverbs 1:1-7 “The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction; To discern the words of understanding; To receive instruction in wise dealing, In righteousness and justice and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion: That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; And that the man of understanding may attain unto sound counsels: To understand a proverb, and a figure, The words of the wise, and their dark sayings. The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.”
If you are not all where you need to be with the wisdom that GOD wants you to have, take some time and re-read the book of Proverbs, study it, pray, and ask GOD to help you obtain that he wants you to have.
