“PUTTING ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD”

Ephesians 6:10-20  The Whole Armor of God

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His
might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you
may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness,  and having shod your feet with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;  above all, taking the shield of faith
with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication
for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I
may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for
which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I
ought to speak.

There are six things you can use as the full armor of GOD. These six things
will help you in keeping Satan just where he needs to be, out of your life.
We must first acquire
The Helmet of Salvation which is there to protect
your thoughts so that they will be Christ-like.  In 1 Corinthians 2:16, it states
that “For who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct him?” But
we have the mind of Christ.  As we read in Philippians 2:5 it tells us how our
attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.  I truly believe that we
should examine our thoughts daily to make sure that we are aligning ourselves
with Christ Jesus. As stated in Psalms 23:7 “What a man thinketh so is he so
in order to be Christ-like we must do our best to keep all negative thinking
away. When the enemy tries to invade your thought speak a word to him and
let him know that he has entered the wrong mind and that he needs to move
on.

Secondly, we must put on The Breastplate of Righteousness which is
what we need in order to protect our heart as well as other vital organs from
the enemy.  The breastplate was a central part of the Roman soldier’s armor;
it provided protection for the torso, which contains vital organs like the heart,
and lung.  Isaiah 59:17 states that “For He put on righteousness as a
breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of
vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. We should choose
to do what is right in God’s eyes as in 1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But let us who are
of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith, and love, and as a
helmet hope of salvation. It is all right here so why aren’t we abiding by it?
Riches do not profit in the day of the wrath, but righteousness delivers from
death as read in Proverbs 11:4.  Ephesians 6:13 gives a description as to how
you will wear the breastplate of righteousness.  Therefore take up the whole
armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having
done all, to stand.  Once you have put on the breastplate of righteousness
make sure you do not take it off.  Taking it off will give the enemy a chance to
enter.

Then we must put on The Sandals of Peace or Shoes for the preparation of
Peace. Let’s look at what is written in Romans 10:14-15 “How then shall they
call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him
of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent? How beautiful are the feet of
those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tiding of good things!”
Let’s allow the peace of God to rule in our hearts as stated in Colossians 3:
15.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of
God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in
Christ Jesus” as stated in Philippians 4:6-7.  God cannot give you peace if you
don’t give it all to him. If you give him all he will grant you the desires of your
hearts.

The fourth thing we must do is put on The Belt of Truth; you should ask
Jesus to show you the truth about yourself.  By knowing the truth you will be
free. I don’t know about you but that’s the only way I want to be. So I am
standing on the Word in John 8:32 which says “And you shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free.” Thank you Jesus for helping us to become
free. We should pray and ask for the gift of discernment which will help in
knowing the truth about others. There are some spirits that are not of GOD
and some that are, so pray and ask for guidance in knowing the spirit of truth.
This belt is what Jesus used to stand against the enemy and his lies and
deception. We must be anchored in the truth that is found in Jesus in order for
us to win those spiritual battles that will come our way.

We are almost equipped with the whole armor; The Shield of Faith is where
Jesus is the Focus. Hebrews 11:33-34 states ” who through faith subdued
kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of
lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of the
weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the
armies of the aliens. The Roman Soldier’s used large and small shields to
protect them from arrows during battle. However we only need to trust in
Jesus, he is our shield. Remember in Hebrews 11:1 it states that faith is the
substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Romans 10:
17 says faith comes by hearing the word…Whatever the enemy sends your
way you must truly speak to it and let it know that it will not win this battle. You
have the faith of Jesus which will help you win. This is where you must study to
show yourself approved to fight that enemy.

Lastly, The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of GOD. All you have to
do is read, study, and believe so that when you are attacked you are
equipped with the Word of GOD. It’s time to set yourself free from whatever is
in your life that will stop you from living in faith and health. The Word of GOD
is the sword here so once you have accepted that Jesus is the way then you
will know that the Word will help you fight your battles.  As stated in Hebrews 4:
12 “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-
edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. GLORY.

Let’s meditate on the full armor of GOD and wear it as if it is the most beautiful
outfit you have ever seen in life.

Father God I come to you right now in prayer, asking that the person
reading this right now will put the full armor on and let the enemy know that he
cannot and will not live within. I pray that he or she will repent and ask for
forgiveness of things done that was not of you Father GOD and to forgive
those who have done wrong unto them. Lord, I ask that you give them
guidance, a Christ-like mind, the truth about themselves as the Holy Spirit
gives discernment, to remove all doubt and temptation. Lord help them to just
be set free from anything that is not of you Lord GOD, in Jesus Name I pray.
AMEN
